We have a blond naso tang
she has been with us for over 5 years.
Medical history.... Survived ich about 1 year after we got her.
Then survived Katrina in a dead tank for 5 days.

After we moved to texas, she went through a period of not eating for 5 days and with the help of some folks on here she survived.

No issues since then... over two years ago.
Last night she was sluggish. Hid in her cave a lot. She did come out and eat. seemed ok but not active.

This morning she is upright on the bottom of the tank. Just cant seem to get enough energy to swim. Color is very dark like when she is stressed. Seems thin even though she has eaten normally for the past several days.

We did a massive water change just in case.
There are two other fish in the tank... blue cronos and a sail fin tang

Tank has lots of soft corals. they all look fine
some aptasia an mohano problems.

Some of you may remember us.. we have not been active in a while.
We raised sea horses for a while.
The fish in question is betty b
there are posts on here about her.

does the fish have ich on it at all? what is its breathing like?

if a fish is lying on the bottom with no energy it is already in a poor state i dont think the prognosis is good but id advise a full test of all water conditions if all are good id suggest moving it to a hospital tank but until you can determine what exactly is wrong that might cause even more stress.

Could something have poisoned the fish? or is its abdomen swollen?

no no ich, we lost her
came on very fast she ate last night.
no swollen abdomen. It is very strange no other fish had an issue.
nothing new has been introduced to the tank in over a year

Very sad, this fish was with us a long time.. and though some very tough times
