I have a 75 gal tank with a 3 inch sand bed in the middle, with filter bags for incoming water, then water pumps out the other side. Tank is 5 years old and very established. The show tank is I think a 105 tall. measures something like 48x18x30tall. The problem is the sump/refug has sprung a leak is slow but serious. must be replaced. Anybody had to do this. Any steps to save anything from the leaking tank. its for of little bugs and is its little eco-system.

Powerheads for main tank circulation, disconnect the sump for repairs and replacement? With water in it, options are limited.

here is some of the equipment removed from the old sump!

after gathering every water tight container in my house!!!! i emptied enough water out of my tank to remove one of the center braces!
there is a 55gal drum (thanks Coral Couple) Full, the refugium is half full (in the chair) there are 3-5gal buckets in the front full of water. (including the one with the sulfur reactor) there are 4- 5gal water jugs in front of the drum that are full. and also, there is a 55gal tank by the table that is full to the brim!!.

here is a front shot of my tank.
most of my corals went without water for a few minutes. (i had to drain past the corals to get the brace out. i also shut the lights off so they wouldn't burn or dry out as fast)

here is a quick shot of the new sump installed, and the refugium ready for install.
(note the water back in the display after brace was re-installed, and pumps and lights going while the sump install continues.
