PLease help i have a 55 gal. Aquarium with a 20 gal. refugium. I have a sea hare and about 30 min. ago he feal into the large carpet anemone maybe 10 inches across. After he feal in i had to just wait well after what seemed like forever the sea hare released the purple toxin i emidiatly sifaned out as much as possible. I think i got almost all out exept for what was on the anemone. the sea hare was released and is in a bucket. what do i do now? Will the fish be ok? should i put the sea hare in the refugium? PLEASE HELP

Well nothing has died and the sea hare is in the refugium. I am not sure what to do i don't want to get rid of the anemone but i'm scared to put the sea hare back in the main tank. Any Ideas? Does any one have a Sea Hare? Am i in the wrong section?

here ya go

The sea hare can release a purplish ink as a defense mechanism, not only when they die, but whenever they feel sufficiently threatened or irritated. However, this ink is not particularly toxic (although it is certainly a stressful irritant to most species), but it is a potential hazard for pollution and stress if not removed from the aquarium. Fortunately, the ink is easily removed with the use of activated carbon or chemipure, or by water changes. If your tank has adequate chemical filtration, a sea hare poses no real threat to your aquarium inhabitants.

If you don't have adequate filtration with activated carbon or plenty of macroalgae in your tank for them to eat, then don't consider keeping this reef critter. They are sensitive to water quality, including high nitrates.

This is the link i got that from.
