Does anyone know if an emperater angel would eat a anemone? I dont have either yet, but local fish store has a 4" emperater for a great price, but in the future I would like to get a gigantea anemone, so I was trying to get some oppinions.

Ive had emperors with anenomes and Ive never had any problems. You have to remember anenomes have a pretty strong sting.

I'm not sure that is a factor, when it comes to fish that eat noxious animals like nems, sponges, corals, etc. Butterflies, for example, generally LOVE nems :(

It should be fine I have medium size emperors angel right in a tank with about 30 rbt and he don't bother them. He love zoathid though.

I had a reasonbly big emporer (about 7-8") with a RBTA.

This angel was a well experienced coral muncher - just about every soft coral you can think of; devils hand, sacrophyton, GSP's, regular star polyps, etc. - but never touched the new.

The nem had a pretty assertive pair of clarkii clowns in it, but to be honest if the emporer wanted to eat it, these little guys wouldn't have stopped him.

I don't know much about nem's to be honest - I don't know if RBTA's have a particualrly strong sting? If it does, perhaps that detered the emporer. This particualr nem was capable of catching and consuming a whole lance fish (silver side) or prawn (2") within a couple of mins - so perhaps it was a "strong" one.....

I have a 10 inch emp in with three RTBA's and now some green mushrooms. He has never tried to eat any of them. There are a pair of gold strip clowns that patrol the RTBA's....but one on the other end of the tank they rarely visit.
