Emperor angelfish location, and availability

Red Sea ones can have almost red tail as mentioned here, but i saw it only in huge specimens that better be left in the ocean.
I doubt if they keep that color for long time.

I also doubt if the CXI ones really keep that orange tail for life in the tank.
Yeah, it seems to be orange, till you see a new CXI emperor coming in a shipment and you get a new idea about how an orange tail should look like, I guess they're fading slowly.

You can get Orange Tails from Kenya and China also.

Has anyone been abe able to keep the orange tail emperor orange over time or has it been your experience the color fades to yellow? If fades yellow , how long did the orange color lasted? Trying to figure out whether its due to diet or environment.

Thanks for any inputs here.

Week night bump.

I came across a post by Jeremy where his orange tail emp kept the orange for the year under his care (I believe it's a reef tank).

streamer

streamer

it seems large males from w pacific have high rate having a streamer on the rear end of dorsal fin. as far as i know the japs import quite a number of large emps from taiwan for this reason

Blonde moment, I saw a juvi emperor there on Monday afternoon. Should still be there unless someone's already snatched him up, beautiful fish!!
