Emrald Crabs??

I bought 3 emerald crabs about 3 weeks ago. 1 of them I never saw after it hit the water, the other 2 I saw for a few hours then no sign. I haven't seen a speck of any of the 3 since. Is this normal or has something happened to them? There is definitely plenty for them to eat so that's not the problem. Any suggestions??

They can and do hide, and sometimes they're just tough to see.

How big is the tank?

where i worked we had a 12 gallon nano on the front desk that i would look at constantly for 7 months. while cleaning it the other day i picked up a rock and found an emerald in the rock, who had been there for over 7 months. moral, sometimes they hide well, i wouldn't worry about them

I drip acclimated over a period of 3 hours. They are in a 180 DT about 250 total system volume. I've looked all over the tank, actually looking for a YWG that I can't find either but haven't seen anything from any of them.

I had one emerald in my 75. I would see him every couple of weeks/months.

They hide REALLY well in the cracks of the live rock. Makes you wonder how they got in there. I usually only see a foot or claw every now and then if I'm lucky. I shine a bright flashlight all over the rocks in search of them and eventually find one!

Yes, they do hide very well. And from my experience, they almost seem to be nocturnal.
