Too much or too little light? getting white on the edges and color fading significantly.

Could be either, or neither. Give us some info on the tank - especially lighting and water parameters.

Here goes:

32 gallon biocube with a Nanobox Retro LED. Have not had good luck with SPS in the past (always same issue)... just trying one more time.

Water parameters

Alk: 8.5
Calcium: 460-480
Phosphate .09 (hanna ULR)
Nitrate 5-10ish
Temp: 78-80 daily movement
Salinity: 1.026.

Pavona is about 2 weeks old at this point. The spot it is in it probably gets a bit of shadow from a hire up Frogspawn that opens huge during the day.

It does look like the tissue is dying, from the outside inward. IME, with frags, that is often a sign the frag isn't getting sufficient food - or, too much light for the available food. Your Nitrate/Phosphate ratio looks good as far as growth fuel goes, so I'm really not sure of what you have going on.

What are you having success with?

Kevin

LPS and Softies for the most part doing great. Anything in particular I could "œfeed" this pavona?

I haven't kept Pavona, so hopefully someone else can chime in, but there are a number of coral-feeding products out there - reef roids among others, as well as amino acid compounds. Just type in "coral foods" in Google and you'll get a bunch of listings.

Looks like tissue recession to me too. I would start feeding it. Selcon for sure, mixed with reef roids or Reef Chili, or whatever dry brand of coral food you choose. Mix together a couple drops of Selcon with your powdered food and a few drops of tank water. Turn off pumps. Squirt your food mixture onto pavona. Give it about 20 min to eat. You should be about to see it. TidalGardens has great videos of corals eating. Feed him everyday- be sure you are running a slimmer to collect the leftovers- and I’ll bet that pavona puts flesh back on.
