end cap for haddoni

Silfer

Gonnae no dae that.
Hi,

Going to make an acrylic end cap for my blue haddoni that i'll be receiving next week.

What is the ideal diameter and depth to make it? The haddoni is 6" fully open, just a wee one. :)

Thanks

An acrylic end cap? I'm not clear what this is or what it is for. Do you mean a tube of sorts to fill with sand so the anemone can dig its foot in? If so, I use a 3" diameter pvc tube with a pvc cap on one end, and I make the tube about 8" in length.

Seems acrylic would be more expensive, no?

Cheers

8 inches? that's a lot, I was thinking closer to 3 or 4 inches. (remember, we're talking about PVC piping, lol)

I should probably have said 6-8" (and yes... pvc... :) ). This is what i have used in the past.

I had 3" deep sand and my haddoni would not stop moving around, as these 'nems like to dig deep. I put it in the aforementioned pvc tube with cap, and it has stayed put for the last seven years. It also makes it infinitely more easy to move the 'nem around if/when you want to reaquascape.

But, I would not go shorter than 6".

Cheers
Mike
