My engineer Goby has been coming out from hiding more and more as he's getting bigger. He's a lot of fun to watch.

I managed to get some video of him swimming around... Of course, my kids had to see what I was doing.

Ignore the algae. Cleaning day is tomorrow.

How deep is your sand bed? Surprised he hasn't rearranged the rock work with his tunneling. I understand that can be a problem with them.

Beautiful :)

Ours was doing this for a month before unfortunately as mentioned above, he tunneled and a rock must have shifted on him... Found him but he didn't pull through.

Make sure your rocks are braced/sturdy against the glass. I thought I had, and poured sand around them, but it still shifted.

My sand bed is about 6" deep.

The rocks have moved quite a bit from when I first set the tank up, but they seem to have stabilized at this point.

I was thinking about getting in there and putting large pvc pipe under the rocks to keep them from sinking any farther, but haven't done it yet. It would basically mean pulling all the rock out and starting over.

We're looking at selling our house next year. The tank currently takes up most of the little living room downstairs, so I'll probably be taking the tank down while we sell the house and move and then setting it back up at the new house. I haven't decided what to do about the livestock yet, but will probably end up selling them back to the pet store. It'll be sad to watch them go.
