Enough flow??

I'm in the process, very long and slow process but process, of gathering things up for my 40b that'll be sps dominant. Just picked up a mp10 and a koralia 1150. These two together should be more than enough flow wise correct???

I ran a wp25 on else mode in the slowest setting, and an mp40 dialed waaaaay back on my 40 breeder. How many gph is the koralia?

Since you posted this question here in sps section, i assume you have or will have a sps dominated tank. for such tank, i dont believe there is no such thing as too much flow. i have 250 gallon, started with 2 mp40 then added another 2 mp40...then added another 2 wp40, now im planning to add 2 more wp40

Yes I will have a sps dominate tank. Since posting this I actually returned the koralia and went with 2 mp10s instead. Local Petco had them on clearance for $115. Couldn't pass that up! Plus this way I can better control the flow pattern/gph to keep things happy

I use an vortech mp40 on 100 percent reef crest with a rw8 on else mode at 100 percent. I don't think you can have to much flow, as long as there is room for the powerheads to push water without ripping the skin off corals.

Personally I like as much as I can get because it helps sps grow out uniform and thick instead of twisted and long skinny branches, which to me looks unnatural. Even the smooth skinned acros do well with a lot of flow and grow nice.
