Entire 120 Setup - make offers

Are you kidding me? All I can say is I killed myself, got a freind to take me a 1.5 hour trip one way, paid her gas, made my hubby and hers mad, grouchy kidds, sore back, gone all day and Hours of work to acclimate everything tonight and told you via PM if the skimmer will not fit under my tank you had first dibbs.... Man grow up. ANd the nice comment Via PM about "oh well, first come first dibbs with a not nice jab attitude" is just that, I PMed him about a deal about 10 mins after he posted the thread. This is ALL I am saying about this. If anyone want to inquire about what I am not going to use from my troubles of getting the tank they can PM me. I will not post on this thread again.

"Are you kidding me" I only stopped offerring because you PM'ed everyone and told us to stop, and You would cut and deal and help everyone get what they were asking for. Now it's, "I did it, and I will keep what I want."

You are right you do have a problem.

I can't believe this, I picked up a 48" 125 from glass cagese just the other day at the frag swap, and paid alot more then this, I would have took this as a package. Darn a day late and money to spare in this case.

If it was me selling this... The first one to SHOW me the money (not ask me for a price) would be the first one to get it.

This is the precise reason why I quit being involved with the ReefClub. It seems like it has become a COOP where most everyone is out ot get a deal, and if they dont, then they get upset etc. The club is supposed to be about sharing knowledge, and getting together and having fun.

It should not be about group buys (so you can save 5 dollars), selling stuff, etc. I dont like to sell my corals when I offer them up. I would rather give small frags away or swap large pieces. Everyone should chill out.

I agree the club is about sharing knowledge and having fun. But I think it is also has a benefit of a coop. I am from SD which is a big farming area actually more cows then people in that state. But when a person goes to a "coop" he is likely to see a bunch of farmers standing around drinking coffee and talking about how big there corn is and what new product they used to get it. They use there buying power or selling power together to influence the price so they can afford to stay in business and not have all the corporations dictate prices. So as I group I know I have benefited from group buys and buying of corals from members. That being said I do think we should restrain ourselves from openly posting insults or derogatory comments on this board as it will just bring on tightened censorship and angry people.

My main point was that it has become more a for/sale board and less of a sharing knowledge, corals, and having fun group. This started a long time ago, about six month after the group started, and to be honest it turns alot of people off.

Just look at the front page of the forum, the majority of the links are either group buys, for sale links, or swap links. In fact it looks like 10 of 22 are some form of swap or sale link.

Dont get me wrong, if this is what people want then great, but its not really very much fun in my opinion.

I see what you're saying, but I search through every 'for sale' item listed here, because I'm always looking to buy something or get a new idea of what I need. :)

This forum may have changed in the past few years, but it's still an invaluable resource. Most of my 'how to' questions are posted on the main RC board in the appropriate forum....not that I don't trust the people here, it's just to get a quicker, more direct answer.

The people on this board are still friendly and informative. I was shocked when Jack invited me into his home to view his T5 setups.....and he didn't know me from Adam! I'm only hoping that I can return the favor to some newbie one day.

There are some good guys and gals here, and sure, like any family there will be arguments, but we should be mature enough to agree to disagree and move on.

I've also noticed that I've never posted a question on the MTRC board that went unanswered.

I'm confused about this whole thing. :P

What did the whole thing end up selling for? And who even got it or what? Or is it still available?

It must have went for way more than $800 to whoever got it because Angela PM'd me and said the tank/stand/canopy was going to be $695. I had to pass on that, but just curious if anything is still available or who's in control of the situation.

Sorry for the confusion... I've been kind of out of it all weekend and extremely busy. This whole thing seemed to have gone down kind of wierd. @#$%^&)??? :O

I haven't responded to this because I've heard both side's story about all of this. I really think we should just drop this whole thing and move on. I get mad at certain people on here because they seem to be all about selling something and jacking up the price on stuff. Resell items should not cost that much to buy especially if it's like a year old or so. Might as well buy a new one, I've bought certain things on here that went bad within a few month (from older members with no response when I tell'em), that's when I quit buying used items unless I know the person. We're all here for knowledge and let's keep it that way. Even though I got mad at those people, I move on. I like most of the members on here and I'm proud to be a member of MTRC. It helps me out on costs at Critters.... :D
So PLEASE let's all drop this thread and move on!!!! Thank you for your cooperation!

Yea, sometimes there's nothing like "that new car smell". I guess it depends on what your buying though. Like... I'd never buy used underwear. LMAO But.. I have gone to the Goodwill and bought pants before. :P

I was shocked when Jack invited me into his home to view his T5 setups.....

I just figured other people who want to grow corals must be equally insane as I am :)

Michael, I hope it isn't my stuff that stopped working...
