As a member from England that really likes this site just because I can see how lucky you guys are, and what you can get hold of that we can't, then I thought i'd share some of my favourite LPS finds that are really tough to find over here.

A nice red Goniopora;

Some red Blassto's;

A big fat Fox coral;

A strange morph coloured Trachy thats opaque/lime/orange--it's eating some shrimp in this picture;

And a bright lime coloured Brain;

I really hope you like them, and I know that this is stuff thats easily found for you guys, but my inspiration comes from your site, and these pieces excite me.

Be lucky, Miggsy.

Miggsy: I have been looking for the coral in pic one for over a year. LOVE IT!!!!!!! Only thing I can get is green.
It's not just where you sre so don't feel to bad. I see things all the time I can't find where I can but 3 or 4 or 15 states away have an awesome selection.

Hello Miggsy,

in the Reef Discussion forum there is a thread by Paul Davies looking for people living in the UK. He would like to establish a frag trading network.

We only got our first legal imports of Cataphyllias (elegance) just over 2 months ago and the prices are still artificially high now.

The Fox coral I picked up on Saturday was from the very first legal import of them which was Wednesday of last week.

EU and UK import restictions ;) Not to it's not a cake walk to begin an live animal import business in the UK. There's a lot more hurdles to jump. FWIW, the UK has it right as far as this line of business goes.

and they have the best beer's to!! So what all kinds of fish and corals are available to you guy's across the pond??

We can get all of the softies that you would want, there's also quite alot of the rarer zoo's now finding there way over here (very expensive though).

We don't really have a problem getting hold of SPS, all my mates that are serious about SPS are happy enough.

But, as I mentioned earlier we really struggle with LPS.

Elegance only came off the CITES list 2 months ago and the ones we have now cost quite a lot, as much as $440 in your money at our LFS.

We got the first legal shipment of Blastos and Fox corals 2 weeks ago and theres a few Duncans now coming up for sale. We can get Trachy's, but certainly not the bright reds that you lot seem to have.

We can't get any Micromussa at all so far though, and these are what I would really like to get.

This is a picture of my recent upgrade from a 40 gallon up to a 135 gallon reef tank;

looks great to me!!

Thanks Oddballs :D

I had to set the camera to a really low EV to stop the glare from the substrate and LPS on the bottom, its actually lit by 2 x 250 watt halides and 4 x T8 actinics so its obviously a LOT brighter than the pic seems to be.
