Trying to decide which skimmer to purchase for my JBJ 45gal rimless tank. I've read a lot of good reviews on the Aquamaxx HOB-1 (however it is a hang on back) vs in sump.

Also, the Vortech MP10 or Maxspect Gyre 130?

What are the recommendations out there?

Ive always done in sump for the simple reason that when it decides to overflow, and it will, it dumps into your sump and not all over your floor. Its happened so many times that i dont understand how anyone uses an external skimmer. Just my experience.

I have used both power heads and I like the gyre. Tho I would get the 230 instead of the 130 just because of the new controller.
