Eshopps Float Valve inlet leaks

I just opened a brand new Eshopp's float valve that I bought about 5 years ago.

Looks just like this: https://www.saltwateraquarium.com/rodi-float-valve-kit-eshopps

Anyway, the inlet when attached to my RO/DI is leaking, thus the float valve won't ever work since once that's closed, the inlet is still spouting water.

I've tried their supplied tubing, as well as my own. Even tightening the screw to get it in won't keep it from leaking (in fact doing that just totally stopped the flow somehow).

The inlet is just way too big I think. The tubing just wiggles around and I can easily see how it's not going to hold any pressure.

Any ideas on what I can do? Should I just replace the inlet? What parts can I use to replace it with?

Will this work:

Or:

define inlet and screw?
Do you mean nut on the compression fitting elbow?

Replace it with a john guest fitting if you can't figure it out or get it sealed..

Not sure how to define inlet more. On the instructions it says inlet. It's literally where the tube goes in to the fitting.

The screw is the part that you also see in the photo that I pointed to.

Which john guest fitting will work?

That photo was not showing up for me before.. (I see you edited your post to include that after I responded)
Take that fitting to the hardware store/home depot and match up the male threads with a john guest 1/4" tube fitting on the other end.. I doubt you need a 90 deg turn..

Out of curiosity.. Does the nut flip around the other way?
It just doesn't look right to me for some reason..
Just get a different fitting and call it a day..
