Hi guys I wanted your knowledge. I have had my current 39g cadlights set up since march and haven't had many problems with it. As time went on I have gathered some coral and since then it has been growing. In the beginning I have always tested cal alk and ph. They always remained the same. I use instant ocean reef crystals and I have made 5g water changes that I would assume would replenish cal, ph, and mag. Back then since I only had small corals I guess that was ok but now that the tank is pretty full I have not been able to get my cal up over 380ppm. My ph is either 8.2 or 8.4 depending on the color of the test. Mag is at 1300ppm. I use b-ionic 2 part.
What I wanted to know was if any of you guys were using 2 part and how to go about raising my cal without raising my ph. I had in mind using just part b (cal) and not adding part a (alk). Would that be the correct way of going about raising my cal? If so how much would I, or could I add to my tank and be ok? I hope you guys can help me out.
Also, I was wondering what u guys do or use to supplement your tanks for cal? I was thinking of getting a couple of the brs dossers and hooking them up to my rke and letting it dose at night slowly.
Your help is appreciated
