Etched Glass! Help!

Hello all, I am working on setting up a 125g aquarium that I bought used. Trouble is, there seems to be a water line 'etched' into the glass from the previous owner. Here's a pic:

You can see the line about 1" below the bottom of the trim.

My question is, is there something I can "soak" the tank in to remove these marks? Some sort of acid or base added to some water? I've tried using the usual: vinegar, glass cleaner, lime-away .. even muriatic acid! No luck.

If anyone has experience with this, your insight would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.

I've tried "lime-away" and it didn't work. Not sure about CLR, but most any product I've tried didn't work simply because the glass is etched. The contaminants are inside the glass, not on the surface where a solvent can work. That's why I was asking about soaking it somehow, to let the solvent penetrate.

I have some 250w MHs that I am planning on using. Would the etching in the glass show when filled when using the MHs?
