ETSS won't wet skim?

I have an ETSS 800 dual downdraft skimmer. I 've got it hooked up to a pan world 200 pressure pump. It is in sump with the water just covering the bottom black chamber. I can not get this skimmer to skim wet, I can get lots of mud to collect in and around the collection cup neck but hardly any wet skimmate. Does anyone else with this skimmer have the same problem? And if so what have you done about it?

When I ran mine, I would daily stick my ro/di line up to the air inputs and flush them a little. If I recall correctly removing bioballs in the tubes makes a wetter skim and adding more makes it dryer. Just do 1 ball out of each tube and wait. Then after a day or so try another.

Did you ever find the owner's manual for your skimmer?

Yes I have the owners manual. I recieved a suggestion to remove some bioballs to get wetter skim. I've done that and that helped. The skimmer is finicky though, but I'am getting more production from it.
