Euro Reef help

I'm trying out a euro reef RS100 and may buy it, but I can't seem to get the foam right. It is making tons of bubbles in the chamber but only a tiny bit makes it to the cup. Is this normal???

Skimmer

That is pretty normal. It typically takes a few days to really have it working at it's peak. Mine also has a discharge pipe that I can flip end for end and one end allows the water to come up higher than the other end. You may want to look at yours to see if it does the same. How far do the bubbles stop from the top?

I had the same skimmer and loved it. I kept the line of bubble mid-way on the length of the skimmer neck.

It seemed to be running ok for a day or two, then I emptied the cup and its back to struggling. I had a tube extending the intake, because my sump level is lower than the intake. I changed it and got a 1/2 elbow is this reducing productivity?
Mr. Ocean I don't understand what you are describing. Do you mean where the water returns??

To my knowledge you want that pump submerged....sounds like it is reducing the intake on the pump. Can you raise the water level in the sump?

To adjust the water level in the skimmer it will depend on which model you have and what age it is. The newer ones you simply twist that riser pipe to dial in. On the older ones you raise and lower the riser pipe.
