Me and my father are in the process of setting up a new tank. We bought a Euro Reef RS 180 protein skimmer from somebody online but are not sure of the operation zone for this skimmer and was wondering if anyone knew?

Assuming you mean "where do we put it?," your skimmer operates in a refugium or sump external to the tank- you place it in about 7" of water that recirculates from the tank to the external sump/fuge.
