euro reef skimmer generations

after doing some skimmer research I think the euro reef RS80 will be the winner for my 70g tank with a 15g sump. My question is that everywhere I see pictures of RS80s they look different? Is there a certain one I should be looking for? They are all rated for the same performance I take it?

Thanks for the help. I've seen some posts where people have kept up with all the small changes to skimmer models.

Like anything else, things get tweaked here, a different part there, but it's the same skimmer. My CS135 looks different from the newer ones, but the performance is the same.

i think they changed a few things in 08. like the union top witch basically allows now verticle clearence to take off the cup and dump.

Same thing, and it really dont make a difference enless you only have space under your tank enough for the skimmer and no room to lift up the cup.

btw, rs80 on a 75g is good, but if you plan on stocking medium heavy, i would say to go to the 100.

Im running an rs 100 on my 30cube. its been in for 2 weeks without any skimmate because there is absolutly nothing for it to skimm. but its there when i need it mwahaha!

I have a heavily stocked 90 that is predominantly sps with lots of fish, LR, sand. Total net volume is 60 gal.

I'd recommend the RS 135 if you can fit it.

The 135 is what I was looking at, but I won't be able to fit it in my sump. I'll have to make due with the 80 for now. Certainly anything will be better than the seaclone I've got now. Would it do me any good to continue to run the seaclone after getting the rs80?
