Hmm, my SP4 new style impeller looks different. It has 8 holes not four. I wonder if angelo's will look like mine or like the one sjm has.

Sorry if this has been asked 100 times. Is there a new impeller for the Sedra Pumps? I have a Sedra 9000.

Ok, so I just read a lot of info about Venturi's. Lots of stuff out there.
Has anyone ever tried to simply drill out the hole on the Sedra ER Venturi and then tap the hole for a larger diameter valve? You could either tap it and screw it in, or epoxy in a valve.

Seems simple enough to try, and with a valve you could open or close the hole to fine tune it.

Thanks

cool. The new style ER NW can be used on the Sedra 9000.

on what pump you going to try the new ER pinwheel ?

i know that you test some different impeller like the H&S and deltec it will be interesting to see the compare between all those impeller.

I was not going to do a pinwheel comparison, never thought of it, but that is an idea. I think I should.

I have two of these impellars (one is on the way). One is on the ER 1262 and the other on my Modified Eheim 1260.

Does anyone know if Euro-Reef has released the upper RS series (specifically the RS180) with the “Euro-Locs”? Also, I am planning on ordering one from either Premium Aquatics or Marine Depot and I want to be sure the one I order comes with the new version on the impeller (I saw a thread that Euro-Reef talked about the new impellers pulling like 15% more air). Any info on this?

Finally, I got a new marine depot catalog yesterday. Says something about Euro-Reef releasing a new line called the VS line of skimmers. Value Series(VS) will have in sump and hang on back styles to choose from. Has anyone heard of these? I just want to make sure I am not buying a skimmer that will be discontinued in a month :)

Any insight or comments is great.

cerreta - I have a new RC250 being shipped out to me direct from Euro-Reef this Friday...do you recommend using a 45 or 90 elbow inside the skimmer body to direct the water flow downward to increase contact time - or just leave 'as is' from the factory?

I found that the mod made a difference. Try yours first to see where the foam level, then put the 45 on and see if it changes anything.

Are you getting the RC250 with Eheim pump on it?

from my test on cs250 the best way was without the elbow i try the 45 and the 90 you can give it a try , but it will be the best to let the pump run direct to the skimmer body .

anyone?

I talked with them last week about this, specifically for the rs135 for my 90. They were extremely helpful answering questions about upgrading existing impellers & pumps on old skimmers, airflow etc. I'd rate their customer service as very high. Anyway, they said that they (new euro-loc necks) were due out in December, perhaps early Jan by the time they get to some retailers. He said that they would offer a 30 day trade in for impellers on new skimmers that were not the new version. (though I believe they had to be purchased from an authorized dealer). I'm going to try to wait until then, and also to evaluate the new series.

sigh... but my tank is going to be SKIMMERLESS. I cant let that be! I guess ill be purchasing something to hold me over while I wait for the euro locks to come out. When you say a "30 day trade in for impellers on new skimmers that were not the new version" does that mean we would be sending in our impeller for the new one? Any clue how long this would take?

Thanks
-Chris
