Euroreef Problem

Lately, my Euroreef CS6-1 has a problem pulling in air on a restart. The hose, nipple on the pump are completely clear of obstructions. Inside of pump is clean. It will pull air within an inch from the pump and I have to blow in the airline to get it going. After that, it seems to work fine. Could my pump just be getting weak? It is a few years old and runs 24/7.
Anyone else ever had this problem?
Thanks.

I do have a similar problem with my RS 135. Mine make a rough noise on start up and doesn't pump very well, I have to blow air in the line and it balances the impeller (I think) and gets it going correctly. Euro reef forum said it was probably my impeller going bad....

Doesn't ER have a lifetime replacement warranty on the impeller?

The alloy wheel impeller does but I do ;not believe the normal ones do. Try boiling some RO water and sucking it in the air tube.

Thanks, Moondoggy. I have also noticed the pump has a good bit of vibration until I get the air going into the pump. Didn't notice that before. The impeller looks fine and spins freely on the shaft when out of the pump. I dunno.
