EuroReef question

In the last couple of weeks my EuroReef skimmer has started acting up. Even though the neck is clean, it's like it has trouble reaching up in the collection cup. Also, the water is sloshing out of the tube instead of gently draining down through the foam. As a result, I'm getting micro-bubbles in my sump and then my tank.

Why would water start sloshing out like that? I clean the foam but it doesn't seem to make much of a difference. The water used to gently pour out of the tube and down the foam into the water.

Its because the air intake is clogged. If you take the flexible tubing off of the intake you can take an instrument and clean it out. Usually its just hardened salt so it comes right out. Sometimes mine gets so jammed that I have to take a small drill bit that is the exact diameter of the hole and clean it out with a drill.

Part of your monthly cleaning of your Euro Reef should be to clean out the air intake and that should prevent this problem.

Some people just let the skimmer suck some RO water thru the venturi as a regular mtc program.
