Hi all, I hadn't seen the fish in a couple of days, so I decided to move a couple rocks and found it dead at the bottom of the tank. I checked parameters and there is a slight ammonia spike, less than .25 but impossible to be precise with crappy API kit. Nitrates/nitrites 0, sg 1.026, temp 79, he was a fussy eater when I got him about a month and a half ago, but lately has been eating mysis and cyclopeeze soaked in garlic guard. After I got him I began feeding a bit more heavily resulting in a small hair algae outbreak, I reduced feeding from twice a day to once every couple of days. He still looked fat, not sunken in it all. Tank mates include 2 tomatoe clowns, one spot fox face, mandarin, cuc, cleaner shrimp. 72g bow, no sump or skimmer, canister with chemipure elite. There was a small chunk of him missing when I pulled him out but no fin damage and I had never seem him fight with any one in the tank. Any idea what could have happened? And should I be worried about the ammonia or just let it settle back on its own. Thanks.
