Ever had a bad month of lossing frags? What's your death toll ?

I had a 2 polyp valentines day massacre frag come unglued and stuck to a K3 it was fine after I reglued it. A week later it became unglued again but I didn't feel like sticking my hand in the tank when I saw it rolling around in the sand, the next day I went to look for it and never saw it again. I'm hoping when I move the rocks one day to find a mini colony of them but I doubt it.

was having alk swings in my frag and i dnt know it at the time. i lost 15 ora frags lke 20k lok, ali tri, and others and then i lost like 20 or so chalices...my heart sank.
so i moved them to under my frag rack cause they were white and i was ****ed..
and added a Ca reactor so i could curb the swings and not have to dose anymore. i pulled the frag rack one day and looked at the chalices and low and behold some grew back! the 20 were pure white and they were coloring up cause of the Ca reactor.. couldnt believe it. it was a bad story that got better with better equip. hehe

Good thread, stumbled on it as I am recovering from my own meltdown and figured I'd add to the misery and revive the thread.

In my haste to get my upgrade done on a new custom 125g tank, I decided I couldn't wait to order PVC gate valves so I installed brass and learned the hard way that brass doesn't really mean pure brass. By the time I figured out that it contains copper, I lost almost everything including three Florida ricordea colonies, three beautiful Yuma colonies, all of my good zoa colonies, 10 headed torch, all my inverts, chili coral and my suncoral. Thankfully my one favorite piece, my huge frogspawn survived and is the centerpiece of my new start.

Hopefully someone else can learn from my mistakes. Patience is the most important ingredient to success in this hobby. It is usually the biggest contributor to many of the failures I've seen.

Ive only had growth this past month!!

Ive lost my fair share though!! Most of my losses in the past have been to bacteria (cyno), bubble algea encroachment and frags not taking kindly to fragging.
