Hi every one, I just started my 29 gal biocube five day ago and today I re-check the numbers and they are still, amonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate o, PH 8.2. Do they take a wile to come up? I imagine that with five days I will have some amonia but nothing is going on, I just saw a snail yesterday that probably came with the rock but that's about it.

Can somoane tell me if I need to wait a litle longer?... Thank you very much...

where did you get the rock? how did you trasport it? if it was fully cured when you got it, and it wasn't out of the water for very long, you may not see much of a cycle.

yes, Ibought the rock in a pet store, it wasn't to long out of the water (three ours, with wet paper) and then I scrubed and rinsed with salt water before put it in the tank. Thank you for your help...

So should I put some damsel's to see what happend?

Only if you plan on keeping the damsels.

I'd wait another week, check your water again and if it's good get a small clean up crew. Just get a couple snails/crabs and acclimate them correctly and put them in and see how they hold up.

Yep--those damsels are hard to get rid of. You might be stuck with them if you put them in now.

I am just cycling my tank also but I would add a piece of shrimp overnight.(I bet a couple hours would even work) Then take it out. That should give you a ammonia jump then you can see how things balance back out. This method is often recommended here when questions arise about cycling.

I am 14 days in and my ammonia is just now coming down to 0 and I am now waiting on trite and trates.
