That clam is about 4.25" wide including the mantle. The shell is probably 3.5" across although I've never measured it that way. The picture was taken under 3 x 50/50 PC bulbs (so my lights were fully on).

Taken with a new Fuji S602Z, in Macro mode. I can't remember if it was Aperature mode, but probably so. When I saw how nice that picture came out, it immediately became one of those "Gotta save that image!" type of moments.

This maxi is awesome...... No photoshop. this thing glows!

It's a purple and it has thousands of bright blue dots all over it's mantle and the inside gills glow a yellow color that you can see.

Here's most of my clams. 5 of my 6 Maximas (the other one is on my avatar) 1 Squamosa, and 2 Croceas. I have one HUGE deresa too. You can see part of it's mantle on the far right of the pic.

And here is what the Green Maxima looks like from the front. What a Difference. :eek2:

But I took some pictures tonight that I am pretty impressed with, and I gotta post em After I got done taking pics I look over and had to start taking pics again because one of my maximas was spawning!!!!! I started a thread with pics of that.
