Just the whole greenhouse operation makes this one of the most unique retail experiences. Is his plan to make a profit driven aquaculture "farm" out there? It just seems like the heat bill would offset the electric bill for lighting considering Ohio is so cold. Anyway I don't know a thing about the finances of the whole deal, and he is in business for a long time, so he must have a plan.

Even with just one tank on the system its enough water volume that daily swings are really low. Going from summer to winter the tank has dropped about 4-5 degrees which in my opinion is no big deal at all. With the control system he has on the whole greenhouse he could probably even eliminate that, but running cost would be a lot more.
I think a big part of his frustration is that he is spending as much (possibly more) to heat that greenhouse as he would with all 8 tanks running. If I recall correctly the supplier of the tanks was supposed to complete all 8 about a year ago!
If you want to brighten his day next time you see him ask him what it costs to heat a greenhouse during an Ohio winter.

Hey Jim Ask him how much for the shark now as we saw Greg in Bestbuy last night and told my son he had one. Now Nick thinks we need to buy a shark LOL

I have never minded the overall appearance of the store. The live stock has always spoken well for itself and the quality of the store. I do have to say though, I really like what Greg and everyone has done with the place. It's looks awesome! I can't wait until they get the other tanks up in the greenhouse!
i was there on wedn. and he had some nice frags ,good prices you just have to look. i walked right past the big tank in the greenhouse after checking out. i didnt notice the frags in the back of tank i looked thru them and they had some great zoa frags. i went back in to the store and bought one out of there. 1 frag i got had 10 heads for 15 dollars and 1 frag had 12-15 frags for 5.99, those are good prices to me!
