Everything FS

We were out state on vacation when got back home the AC was off,the entire house was like 90 or above plus the outlet (GFI)were I had the tank running went out(no circulation or skimming),in another words Lightning storms during our abscence took care of the house/tank.:mad2: :(

Orlando power companies are great for destroying appliances and ruining fish tanks. Then they want to sell u surge protection devices.I guess even if you had someone coming over everyday it wouldn't matter. I don't know how LFS owners sleep at night?or do they???

im so sorry to hear what happened...

i imagine your stomach must have been in knots

was curious ...
ive heard the reefkeeper is suppose to turn things back on after power outages....

the reason im asking is as reefers what can we learn from this... so that it never happens to any of us again....

i just dont want history to repeat itself

im so sorry to hear what happened...

How about when your outlet goes bad ie (GFCI),who's going to reset the power outlet if nobody at home?:(

That is why I have my powerheads on a GFCI and my external pump on a non GFCI. I honestly can't see an external pump needing a GFCI as much as submerged and it gives me a piece of mind when electricity goes out.

why not just pick up a computer cps. The power usage for your flow would be pretty small. During the last hurricanes I was taking my CPS off my computer system to work, charging it, the coming home and running my filters (and lights on my plant tank).
