Does anyone have opinions I know Ive seen some stuff on here before. I was looking at using one to light my biocube 29 would one be enough and also any opinions on 12k vs 20k. do they grow coral good? any help is apreciated thank you

In my opinion you would need 2-3 to have enough light. I know rc member team dulski has alot of experience with these try pming him.

I am using one 40 optic over my frag tank, which is in 1/3 of a 29 gallon that is full to within 2" of the top. I recently had to lower my frag rack and raise the bulb a bit. I have monti cap, monti digita and zoas in the frag tank.

It really depends on what corals you are going to keep. Over the 29 biocube, oyu might need multiple bulbs or one with a wider optic.

I would think 2 with 60 degree optics would suffice and allow you to grow a wide variety of corals - just make sure the fixture you use can be adjusted for height as these have been known to "burn" some corals initially. I personally think the 20k is too blue, but everyone has their own "taste"....good luck. Also, check out BoostLED and RapidLED for their PAR30's and PAR38's too - not driven as "hard" as the Evil and Ecoxotic bulbs, but still with good par readings. Lots of info on these in the nano forum here and over at nano-reef.

One 80 degree was not even close enough for a 34 gal solana.3 would work awesomely.1/3 of my tank is the par38 the other 2/3 s is 4 x24" t5s now.

made a 3am purchase last night! I ordered the 20 led retro setup for biocube with upgraded drivers so they are dimmable also got a single red led incase i want to throw that in the mix not a bad price whole setup with extra led only ran $300 shipped to my door. drivers were $10 each to upgrade.
