Evolution LED Fixtures

Looking at these to replace 2 150w metal halides. I will need to buy a chiller if I keep the halides so I figure if I buy some of these for roughly the same price as a chiller it will be a lot less power consumption. Right now I have a 90g with 2 150w MH and 4 54w T-5's (2 10,000k and 2 Actinics) With the t-5s, these dont need to be quite as strong as the halides but I would like them close so my question to Henry is: What wattage 3gs do you have (100 or 50). The picture you posted actually doesnt look that blue. Do you have any other lighting over the tank?
I would probably go with the 14k since I really dont like overly blue tanks. Thanks for any input.

These are the 20k(3blues to 1 white). 119 watts each fixture. It is more blue than in the pic.. It's not that great of a pic, but the fixtures run cool and quiet...

Thanks guys. Would you say the blue 20k's are comparable to 20K metal halides or mabe a little bluer. I have a 20k iwasaki and a 20k xm bulb. Love the iwasaki as it shimmers much more and is not overly blue.

Also, I know they have seperate switches for white and blue but there is no way to control them seperately since there is only one plug correct? thanks!

Just got 2 of the 120w 14,000k and so far I'm loving them. I do not have a par meter but the leds are putting out twice as much light as 150w Radiums according to my lux meter. My calcium and alkalinity usage is increasing so I know these are growing sps faster than the halides. I have some stubborn corals like a Garf Bonsai, blue milli, and a Idaho grape cap that where showing very little growth under the halides and I can see color improvements and new growth already under these leds.

Garf Bonsai under 150w Radiums.

After 2 DAYS of Evolution leds,

The color since I took these pics is outstanding and the base of the coral has encrusted a lot more in only a weeks time.

FTS, all lights on.

Thanks for the FTS ritter and thanks everyone else for the follow ups. My mistake, it looks like most have two plugs except the 50watt 3gs that I was looking at...bummer. Might still bite the bullet and get them anyway. They seem to be the most powerful LED for the $ and I am guessing they run very cool. Even the 50w version has two cooling fans.

got mine up and running and the colors are breath taking. mine are mounted on top of the canopy so the fans have good ventlation.

I finally got my two 200 Watt 3g 20k fixtures mounted on my canopy and now working on my plumbing. This gives you an idea of what the bracket for the 200 watt fixture looks like from Chris at Reef Koi:

Thanks Henry. Looking forward to getting the tank up and running to see what it looks like with the LED's on the coral, fish etc.

Hey Kent, are you going to take some par readings and post them? I'd be real interested in what kind of par they put out...

Thank you......:)

I should have photos tomorrow of the tank with water in it. Just got it running today. I was worried about the shimmer look that MH put out but it does have it.

Henry, I dont have a meter to read the par readings. I will ask around here in Albany to see if anyone has one and let you know if I do get readings.

They do have a new product from Evolution that runs on a standard light fixture that I am thinking of trying out for $59 per light:

Here is the video, for some reason the iphone had issues with the white for some reason making it look bleached out but it is not in person.

If you look at the right overflow you can see the shimmer I was trying to record in the video.....quality of the video is not the greatest but it is from my iphone....
