Set up my 100 gallon about 2 months ago, finally got it all cycled and transferred my fish. It contains

1 Dogface Puffer
1 Flame Hawk
2 Occellaris Clowns
1 Yellow Tang
1 Coral Beauty
1 Snowflake Eel

Excited that everything is getting along and more excited to add more! Really want some cool ideas, probably something not too expensive, but with a unique personality or nice colors :)

Those clowns will probably be lunch for him soon. I used to have one years ago and those were the first fish he ate.

0.o Really!? :( That makes me sad. I did a great deal of research and the eel is quite small, while the female Clown is about 2.5 inches, the male is probably almost 2 inches.

The eel's mouth is super super tiny. You really think he'll eat them? :(

It will probably be fine for a while but once it gets bigger you will be running a risk. It will be a flip of a coin since they will have been together for a while before it becomes a concern.

If you're going for a reef there are a few issues you will probably run into with your stocking list, only one really you're not going to be able to get a cuc you're gonna need an overrated skimmer and GFO. The good news is that since your puffer, hawk and eel decimating any cuc you put in your tank, the Coral beauty will have plenty of algae to graze on hopefully preventing him from nipping corals. It's an interesting list though, I wish I had the balls to go mod aggressive.

If the eel does eat your clowns you can probably find a large maroon someone wants to get rid of.

I'd look into hogfishes, triggers, larger wrasses, foxfaces/rabbitfish etc.. It oulds really help if we knew if you were going reef or not.

It doesn't always matter if he can eat the clowns. If he thinks he can he will try and it will kill them anyway. I'd keep him well fed so he doesn't get hungry.
