Thanks Biowerks and Scythanith for the encouragement.
I have had different tanks throughout most of my life, and I am sure I'll keep some thing as long as I am physically able. You know, it is hard to let go:)

Scythanith, thank you for the info on the Radiant Urchin. It's spine is very long and I stepped on it once! Worse, one of the care takers (Todd, the guy got bitten by a great white) sat on it once! He screamed so loud(under water), that I heard him screaming from another room.
Any ways, a sincere thanks to all, you have added lots "values" and "care" to my reef keeping .

Here are some recent pictures before it goes into the hibernate mode:

Hibernate Mode ????

The ones that one could acturally see are 6 H.magnificas, three mertensiis, two RBTA's. But there are some very small maxi S.tapeatums are also in the mix.

When you are to build the same again, at your other location of Hawaii or Cabo.
If the new reef were about the same size, what would you do different?
What would you do exactly the same? And what would you definitely do again? {By the way this is a leading question! }

It has been great following your posts and I thank you for posting here on RC!

Three Cheers!

Thanks Crazzy for your encouragement. If all goes as planned in the next few months, the main tank will continue to run with rock works and the minimal stuff. I think we may settle in So Cal or some where in conus and I could move my tank at that time. By the way, fish tanks only back in Hawaii. We can't have reef or live rocks, only fish.

Leading question is:
What would you do different?
What would you do exactly the same?
And what would you definitely not do again?
If you were to do the same size again.
Thanx

Good questions.

1. I would not have the tank as tall as this one, may be 4 feet tall for the main tank.
2. May be I will use more of made in America products this time around.
3. I would simplify the design, and not have so much equipment.
4. I would never buy another acrylic tank, nor an acrylic sump, and not even for a small acrylic refugium. Glass all the way.

Thanks every one, for the nice comments.

Klondike4001,

Yes, you are right. When I first got the urchin, it gave some of my sps colonies hair cut several times. I moved it to my sump and later to my friends tank, but he nearly died in my friend's tank. So I added him back to my main tank. A year later, he is doing well and have not bother any thing. But, he eats live rocks with great appetites. Thanks for the warning.

when you say winterize what do you mean by that are you draining the tank, putting anti-freeze in(jk), or do the fish just hibernate?

Supersurfer12,

That was funny, but no antifreeze:)

I am considering some offers and may be just get my animals to a good home, keep the rocks, and just let the tank run.
In any case, I have to make up my mind, soon.
