Expensive fish

Okay, so I'm a newbie, and I've been hanging out lately at a LFS talking to some people about reefkeeping and stuff... Well, I knew that this was an expensive hobby getting into it, but we were talking about fish prices today and someone was telling me about this angelfish that was special ordered at the store that cost like a LOT!!! Okay, so I was blown away by that and it made me curious, all you guys who have been in this for a while, 1. What is the most expensive fish that you have purchased, and 2. What is the most expensive fish you have ever seen for sale? Geez, and I thought that $70 for a flame angel was EXPENSIVE!

I think the most expensive fish i bought was an queen angel for like 80 dollars i believe i just seen this Conspicillatus Angel on live aquaria in their drives den for 1,499.99 dollars!

I swear to G-d that I've seen a fish in a lfs priced a $1000 that someone actually bought, but since that was back in the fall and also in a fish store that I don't usually shop at I have a hard time remembering what type of fish it was. However, there is a Bumble Bee Grouper at my closest lfs for $500; the store named it "Kong".

Yeah, I just went to live aquaria to check out the diver's den. You're right there is an angel there for $1500!!! THAT IS CRAZYYYYY

70 is a rip off for an flame angel. 30 dollars is more reasonable. Purple tangs around here are usually in the 40-60 range. Yes that angel on live aquaria is a crazy price but for a fish so rare i can understand but man i was thinking maybe couple hundred dollars not 1500.

A store by me that is known for overpricing everything had a rhinopias scorpion for $1200 I think for the longest time...I doubt anyone ever bought it.

3000 for a pair of dragons is actually a really good price if they are indeed a pair.

marinecenter had a interruptus angel for 1400.00. Which is a total rip because there is a place in hawaii that breeds them and you can get them for 650$ all day! and they are tank bred!!

there are many expensive fish out there :)
