Expensive snack

Picked up two cleaner shrimp today. They lasted less than ten minutes in my tank. I have never seen a tang do this before. One minute one of the shrimp was on his tail end. The next he was shaken off and eaten. The other one was eaten right afterwards.

My Vlamingi in my 300 rips shrimp a part. I feed the tank live bait shrimp once a month and they get torn to shreds. They are pretty big shrimp too.

Once a fish gets used to you feeding anything that comes in through the top of the tank that is able to be eaten will at lest be given a little consideration as food.

This is true... Always add shrimp, nidubranchs, hermits, snails, pods, new fish etc... at night with all of the lights off while the fish are sleeping.

My BT triggers are among the most peaceful fish in my tank, but one day, I added a wrasse in the middle of the day with the lights on, and my BT triggers promptly went after it as soon it hit the surface of the water, and my other fish (yellow tang included) joined in. It never made it to the substrate.

My tank has a few wrasses in it, and they completely ignore new fish that are added at night when the lights come on the next day (except for my yellow tang. it harasses any new comer for a couple of days, but never eats or kills anything)...

Best of luck!!!
