Expert help needed with s.gigantea

I am looking to purchase a gigantea. I have been waiting a while. My LFS has a purple, It has been there for 2 weeks. I said anenome has eaten. I went to get him today. When a strong current blew him hard the anenome came un-attached and flipped over. I could see a small patch(thesize of a quarter) on the bottom of his foot. It looked like a bunch of strings or worms. Is this an infection. After the mouth pushed out a little. IS THIS A SAFE BUY? thanks in advance.

I would say no, you want the foot complete and with nothing looking injured. From your discreption it sounds as though the foot is starting to disintegrate and or have an infection which imo and ime has always proven fatal. I would not buy it. A healthy gigantea will be securly attached and will not be blown away by a swift gust of current.

That is what I was thinking. There is also a large red haddoni but the mouth is pushed out, How bad of a sign is that.

not good. You want the mouth closed tight. But just a little pushed out might just be expelling waste. Generally they are really expensive, how much was it?

You always want to start with a Healthy Anemone. If signs show that they are not, don't bother. It is difficult enough to keep these animals alive when healthy, how much more if they are sick.

I would pass on the red, unless you can watch it for a few days, but it will probably sell. Wait for a healthy one to begin with, you wont regret it.
