The goal of a test kit is to get accurate results (I would hope). Using a test kit after its expiration date certainly would call into question any results you get, so no, I would not use an expired test kit.
I have used test kits that have been expired many times... one even as far as 3+ years past its date and they were still reading correctly when compared to other non-expired test kits..
But that doesn't mean they always will/do and could just be luck
From my experience though they stay accurate enough long after they have expired..
