Exposed Loc-Line on return = micro bubble spurts?

Hello,

I think the thread title pretty much says it all. My tank has spurts of microbubbles. I'm pretty sure this is coming from the loc line on my return as a portion of it is exposed to air. Is this a known issue? If so, can I use some magic lube or some silicone based lube to seal the loc line that is exposed?

thanks,

Matt

If you put silicone on the fittings they may not move very well next time. Generally microbubbles are caused on the suction side. Since the pressure is lower on the suction, it pulls in air. On the discharge the pressure is higher so it leaks (you'll get salt creep at least).
