Ext. Pump Recommendation for PM Bullet 2

I picked up a used Precision Marine Bullet 2 Skimmer and plan to purchase a new pump for it. It currently has a tired old Mak 4 that appears to be on its last legs and hardly pushes any flow so the bubbles are minimal. Any recommendations based on experience with this skimmer. Tank is 180G.

Eheim is recognized as the superior pump for this application. Not sure how big that reactor is but a 1048 will probably do the trick. Most other pumps you purchase will be relatively short lived compared to the Eheim.

Any suggestions on target GPH? Are these skimmers that you want to go heavy on flow? The manufacturer suggests: Pan World 100PX, 150PS, or Sedra 12000.

to drive a single beckett, you should go with an iwaki 55rlt or a gen-x pcx-55.

they say the blueline are at least as good as the pcx pumps and alot quieter. i used a titanium t4 for my mr2, and loved it. it is completely silent

Good info.

I changed to a T-3 for my return two weeks ago and my temps jumped 3 degrees. If I go T-4 on my Skimmer I could use the tank as a hot tub. :eek1: It is really quiet...

i used a 150Ps and it turned out pretty good, a little noisy but not bad at all.
