Extending cables

Hi,

I need to install my P3 in a location that is further than the PAB cable and the serial cables on the optical level sensor and the float sensor. Is the PAB cable just a standard ethernet cable? Are the serial cables on the level sensor just standard serial cables? If so, any reason I cannot just get long cables from my local computer store? Thanks.

the ethernet cable is Cate5e you can use any cable up to a length of 300 feet (tested) and 400 ft untested. All other cables are unique, many have different cross overs.

For level and temp you need VTN-5 and for 0-10v you need VSL-5 each one gives you 5 meters and you can daisy chain.

For serial you need Profiserv-5

Yep BNC-2, this gives you an extra 2 meters, anything more and you will get impedience loss from "any" probe make creed or whatever
