extension tubes?

Would you guys buy a kenko kit that comes with 3 different size tubes or would you get one of the cannon brand ones?

Get the Kenko's. There are no optics in tubes. Canon air isn't any sharper than Kenko air despite being quite a bit more expensive.

They work fine, I've had a set for years.

The avatar was taken with a home built reversed lens. Magnification is nearly 3:1

That is very cool. Maybe I'll dilapidate one of those lenses one day to do the same thing. We have a bunch just lying around at work.
