External skimmer recommendations

Folks,

Thank you in advance for the assist. I am currently running a Tunze 9010 on a 60 gallon with 10 gallon sump. I am considering going to a much beefier skimmer just because I am heavy on fish and feeding coral. I am interested in an external skimmer under $1,000. I am looking for the best skim for the buck out there. I have looked here and most relevant information is about 2 years old or so.

Thanks again,

UH

best for the buck would probably be an octo dnwb 200. they are relatively cheap compared to other skimmers. i doubt if u double the cash ur gonna get double the skim

i like these because they give u the maximum ammt of contact time by pulling water from the top and going to the bottom, under a bubble plate, whereas other recircs pull from the bottom and go to the top. also they have a conical riser, which gives u the benifits of a cone skimmer, at the top.

i was thinking about getting the swc recirc cone

or u could get

and they have bigger ones with extra pumps they go up 100 per extra pump

I got the Octo DNW 150 for my 90. Its an external recirc skimmer. It took a while to break in, but is doing well now. Picked mine up at aqua cave for 259.00
