Long time no see.....

I am looking to see if anyone has any salt buckets the ones I specificly want are the tall 5 gallon (really 6 or 7G).

I have one from some salt I bought and for what I need the height would be great. I need maybe 4 or so.

Thanks for the assist,

Scott

Oh man, I was just gonna make the same cry :D

I need a BUNCH of the 7g size buckets, and I'm willing to buy them with Reef Nutrition products :D They need to have the lid, and not to many scrapes on the sides.

Contact me at gresham@reefnutrition.com if you have any for me :D

Gravel sorting?

Well, actually that is kinda' correct. Needed to do something physical and outdoors. To many hours at work over the last 2 years and I nneded a break.

So, as I detailed in a PM to Marc, getting back into prospecting. The taller buckets are nice as I classify my gravel and sand down to smaller than 1/4" and the tall buckets are, well, taller and cause less strain when I am vigorously shaking and spinning the screen over the bucket.

OK, the truth is out. I ruined the fun of guessing. Or maybe I just became fodder for more?

prospecting's awesome! I bought a sluice and went a couple times. So much for getting rich! What product are you using that goes on the bucket?

I use this over the bucket, then if the material is really dry then put a shovel of interesting gravel/sand in, shake it, spin it until only the larger rocks are left, then refill another hole with them. Repeat until the bucket is weighs as much as you want to carry, then make another 1 or 3. If the gravel is moist or wet, I fill the bucket with water to allow better seperation of the material.

I then run this "classified" material that is smaller than 1/4" thru the sluice 1 scoop or approx 1 cup at a time so you don't overload the sluice and loose gold.

This is an especially good summer to go fo gold. After the heavy rains and snow, alot of new gold got moved and redeposited.

And, as far as the environment goes, if there is contaminate mercury in the material you are processing, it comes out with the gold. Thereby improving the habitat. All you take out is some gold, some heavy sand, old nails, bullets, lead sinkers and occasional garnets.

OK, enough tutoring on my part......

Anyone got some extra buckets?

Thx,

-Scott

Scott, I know that the local Petco here in Vacaville sells the IO salt buckets, usually for $3 or $4, lids included. They usually have a bunch.

Shilo,

I am looking for the 7 gallon size. maybe I will stop by the Petco on my way home and check to see if they do as well.

Thanks for the heads up,

Scott

I'm not sure, probably the 5 or 5.5g. Home depot carries the taller buckets with lids in the painting section, not sure if its 7g or not, but that may be another option.
