Rob how much flow is the WP-40 rated at?I have a 40 breeder so wondering if it would be enough for a spa/LPs tank or to small.

Chris the WP40 is a pretty large pump. I would look towards the wp25 or mp10/ smaller tunze models. Just to be honest.

Too much flow hands down. I use a wp25 in my 75...granted I'm only cycling but it's still set on low. The wp10 would be perfect for your tank IMO. Small footprint and lots of features. However, my wp10 died after only a few months so you do get what you pay for. The new RW series seem a bit more promising from what I read. Didn't mean to hijack the post just saw this and thought I'd give my two cents!

thanks for your honesty Rob.a lot of sellers would tell you that the pump is persfect for your needs.i guess ill look into a mp-10 or one of those new tunzes that John is talking about.do you still have a good amount of sps?you know I want to get frags from you when im ready.

I recently got a wp10, 25, and 40 for my 125 and 34. The 10 is really weak compared with the 25. I can run it wide open in the 34 and it is adequate for LPS. I have to run the 25/40 combo at 50% in my 125. A 25 size would be what I'd do for a 40gal SPS. You could do a 40 and turn it down and run it easier, but it is physically larger so that would affect the aesthetics somewhat.
