As I sit looking at my bare tank just cycling away I have determined that you are such a TEASE! Richard that is an awesome tank!

Sweet:eek2: I assume you used one of those really nice disposable cameras to get such great shots.
BTW...the store really looks nice too.

Nothing I can say will do this one justice Richard. OK so when is the photography demo?

I tiotally agree with that one, Your shots are beautifull, I have thought about posting pictures of my "starter" tank but then I see you post some additional and i would be embarrassed to post pics of what I have, and the quality of the photos I take.

What would it take to get you to do a seminar at one of the cluib meetings on taking tank shots, I think that would be an excellant topic for a meeting!!

WOW Richard you had that red and green trach a long time.

Yeah Richard how long have you had it? It think you told me 4-5 years when you were still living in Jackson.

Bill - two things:

Macro Lens (or just that Setting) on your digital camera is a must have.
Second, any Tripod will do.

A cable shutter release or a self-timed shutter isn't bad either and it helps to stabilize the image at slower shutter speeds, which you need to get the saturation in a low light condition, depending on the camera / settings. (In other words, remove your "hand movement" from the equation.)

Start there, and watch your picture quality improve. But I wouldn't mind a seminar either. Sounds like a good Meeting topic sometime soon.

If somebody else (Richard) wanted to present, I'll host a meeting someday, once my new tank is finally re-established..... which will be this weekend! FINALLY!!!!!

Tracy, you are my hero! Exactly!! Right On, Dude!

"Naked Tanks-R-Us!" It's completely weird to see a new full tank flowing at a combined 2,000 GPH, and not have ANYTHING in the bloody tank, except plain ol' tap water!

Now drained, my new 120 is about 75% full of (aging) week-old RO. (I actually had to leave town to go to Work!!!! (Phffttt! )

It's just there, taunting me, WAITING for me to load up the tank with my 120#'s of mature LR, plus another 36#'s of curing LR and existing LR & livestock from the Nano; Plus all the other fish currently in a holding tank at MemFish. I CAN’T WAIT!!!!

My “cycle” will be a rather abbreviated one, given that I’m just combining existing tanks, with existing Livevstock.

But Right On! I feel your pain. I wanna see that "Cube" when you're finally done Tracy. (and the website’s cool)

Footnote:
Also, Thanks to Mr. Rendos not only for these pics, but for spending an inordinate amount of time (9+ hours!!) at my house helping me last Saturday to get the new tank flowing across two rooms. The installation is uniquely awesome and I know others will appreciate the build, especially with the remote Sump Closet, water source, drains, Vats, Chiller, fans, etc. Thanks for your time Richard!!!!! (With my apologies to Lisa.)

Clint - I have had it for 9 years now.

Photography - in the photos above, I used no tripod, no special lenses, no remote. I held the camera by hand, used manual focus, and all manual settings for F stop and aperture.

When taking pictures...
clean the tank first...or at least wipe the glass clean
turn off pumps...and powerheads

Those two things alone will make for better pictures. Of course the better the camera...the better the pictures...if you know how to use the camera's features. Read the manual...there's lots of good info in there.
Also - don't think every picture I take is good. For every good picture I post here, there are at least one or two bad ones that get deleted.

I would be glad to teach a class on photography...just let me know when and where.

Richard, 2 questions for you sir:
1. What type of camer are you using?
2. What is the name of the anemone that your clowns have hosted with?

Really an awesome tank!
Tracy
