I have battled valonia for a while and bryopsis as well - so, there are phosphates as well I am sure. My bioload is light with 2 wrasses, one bangai cardinal and medium regal blue tang. I feed rod's original every other day

My millis are great and have wonderful color, but, the following corals look decent under lights, but, when the lights are off, the corals are as follows ...

hawkins ... pale blue with hint of brown
oregon torts ... nice purple to blue
garf bonsai ... pale brown with hint of purple in tips

my pink jade, nana and lemonade are decent, but, definitely not stunning. The tank is 14 months old ... I siphon the overflow and sump once a month to remove any detritus ...

I would feed more, but, i am leary of letting the valonia or bryopsis blow up - I am going to dose interceptor to clear up any redbugs as I have seen some signs of them. PE is great on all pieces except the nana and bonsai ...

options ...
> start biopellets or vodka dosing
> feed more often
> leave it alone

other ideas?? Thanks for any help.

thanks for the link, I did read through that thread, but, the presence of the valonia and minor bryopsis makes me think it my not be low nutrient - thoughts?

LTR,

I was the one who started that link, and I have also have some valonia in my tank here and there that I have battled in my tank as well. Even with my low phosphate readings and zero trates it still grows unfortunately. So in saying that you probably have the same problems I am having.
