Failing Osmolator Pump?

I purchased the Tunze Osmolator Universal 3155 ATO a few months ago and noticed today that the pump is not working right. The pump starts out strong and over the course of a minute or two, the flow decreases to nothing and the pump noise gets less and less and sounds like it is struggling. The water level is still low and the controller lights still indicate that it should still be pumping even though the pump is no longer pumping.

Any suggestions?

If it is a new unit, and not one purchased used, the only possibility is a bad pump and we would replace it under warranty, a remote possibility is a short by water at the pump connection. If it is a unit bought used, pre 2009 units will do this with pumps and power supplies made since 2009 because they had a lower amperage delivery before safety cut off.
