fairy/flasher aggression?

How territorial are these little fellows? They're very nice to look at. I have a very laid-back tank of nanofish, including the totally oblivious mandarin, firefish, ywgoby, etc.

Has anyone had experience with mixing these species in a smallish (52) tank?

Fairy and flasher wrasses could be somewhat agressive towards pacific fish, or fish that have similar feeding habits like the Rainsford goby, firefish.
In my opinion it could be risky.

I take that to mean perhaps carefully observing the particular type of fairy wrasse might be in order. They're beautiful little fishes. I'll wait to see if my lfs gets any in and what they get along with. The rainford might be a caution: it's wrasselike in look and manner, and might provoke a reaction. Mmmm.

Thank you, guys, for the advice.

I have two fairy wrasses (labouti and rubyhead) in a 90g with a firefish and no problems. They ignore each other.

A bit over a year ago I just had the rubyhead in with a firefish, clown gobies, orange spotted goby in a 55g. No problem either.

Of all the fish I have had with the fairies, the only problems I had were between the two fairies, not between a fairy and any other fish.

As far as I experinced there was no serious trounble among these two different genera. They can do well together and usually take no interest in each other when individuals are kept as many as possible.

I have a Lubbock's in my 30g. He was the first fish in, and is definitely the king of the tank, but he has accepted each new addition with grace; he's no bully, but he doesn't take any crap from the other fish either. His tankmates are an orange-spotted shrimp goby, a white tailed pygmy angel (C. flavicauda), a Talbot's damsel and a yellow clown goby. I absolutely adore this fish, he has a wonderful disposition and as an additional bonus, he's gorgeous :)

I have had no serious problems with them getting along. The photo is of a P. cyaneus with a C. laboutei and a C. exquisitus going nuts while I was trying to feed corals.

I have had a P. angulatus, P. cyaneus, P. filamentosus and a P. carpenterii along with a C. filamentosus, C laboutei, C. exquisitus and C. scottorum in a 150g with no worries. Eventually I had to take out the C. filamentosus because it started bullying, but they are known to be among the most aggressive of the genus. It is also a little closer in appearance to the paracheilinus.

There were also a pair of purple firefish Nemateleotris decora in that tank with no dramas.
