Square anthias are one of the species that do fine on their own. They can be more aggressive to each other so to do a group your tank would need to be huge.

How many is a "group"

A group for smaller bodied species of anthias could be as few as 3, but the more you get the better they do.

How many females per male? My lfs still has one male but don't want to add too many fish to my system but also don't want to end up with just the one male?

When i have kept dispar and pulcherrimus anthias, i have found they will self regulate the group at 1 male to4-6 females

I purchesed 3 female Anthias. The LFS said they are lyritails. I don't believe they are. These are primarily pink with bright pink coloring on the tail tips. I will try and post a photo. Can I get another say, three Anthias of a different species without any issues?

Yes, but it depends on which kind you got. Certain species mix than others.

Here is a bad photo of the Anthias. They look to me to be Stocky not Lyretail as the LFS told me.. I'm kinda PO'd.. Although I do like the look of these guy's oops girls.. Can these be mixed with other species without difficulty?
Opinions?

They are fine with most other anthias.
