I've been keeping fairy wrasses for a few years now and i notice that sometimes, one or two will just suddenly dissapear out of the blue one fine day.

does this happen to anyone of you? or is it just me..

sometimes they can be doing fine and healthy for many many months, sometimes even a year, and then they just dissapear.

It's not just you. I have had it happen a few times also. Sometimes I can tell though. They will hide alot and start looking real old and ragged. Then one day just disappear.

how unfortunate!

sometimes mine just dissapear for no apparent reason. even though seemingly very healthy, active and feeding.

maybe the stress of something un-usual that's being done to the tank may cause them to go into hiding and scare them to death haha..

i've once did a 50% water change and the next day, one of them just vanished.

Always check your overflow. I had mine jumping in and out of there until I finally covered it up.

I found him when I looked in and saw something just swimming around in there.

Over the years I have had the same thing happen, one day everythings fine then a few days later you notice that someone is missing and you never find a body.

yup.

i cover my tank and overflow so nothing gets in there or out.

just sometimes dissapear y'know?

sucks eh..

Funny how it always seems to be the expensive ones and the cheap or really agressive ones live forever.

Ha ha...I'm in that place with a Lubbock's wrasse right now! He outlived everyone and many unmentionable situations on my part! Now he is in a "sanitarium" all by his lonesome and I don't know what to do with him, but yet don't want to take him back to the LFS because he lived through so much!

About disappearing Fairies...
I haven't had them for too long, but I notice that sometimes the dynamic between the fishes change and then they just lodge themselves deeply in the rock work - and some you see them some you don't.
